Beginners, left and right handers and improvers welcome at all workshops which are noncompetitive and have a friendly atmosphere. Patient tuition and step-by-step
demonstrations will help you learn how to use both Automatic and calligraphy pens and beautifully write greeting cards and a variety of projects.
If new to calligraphy, she will advise on materials which are available for purchase at a discount. Please bring towel or rag, pencil, notepad, lunch and mug.
Weekly Calligraphy Classes
Calligraphy: Learn Beautiful Writing for making Projects.
Beginners and improvers, right or left-handers are welcome in this friendly class. Clear instructions, patient tuition and step-by-step demonstrations will help you to write the beautiful Classic Italic hand. Autumn term: greeting and pop-up cards, folded paper projects, gift tags and bookmarks. Spring term: using watercolour with special calligraphy pens to write your favourite poems, design decorative gold letters, numerals and decorative envelopes. If you have previous experience, a further range of projects- photographic album, family tree, certificates or invitations - will be available.

27 -29 March & 29 March – 1 April 2015 Calligraphy: Beautiful Writing for Greeting Cards and Gifts for Birthdays, Anniversary, etc. Learn / Improve your Calligraphy, gain confidence and pleasure to make a variety of projects. If you are a beginner, learn how to hold the pen and write the Italics, whilst experienced calligraphers will develop an alphabet/ font of their choice (Please let Nancy know which alphabet/ font, in advance, for handouts/examples). Help with individual projects. All levels welcome.
28 - 30 August & 30 August – 4 September 2015: Letters and Words from the Heart- Uncials: Modern and Inventive forms, using broad-edged and pointed pens, decorative lace letters, designs with letter shapes, monograms, making a variety of new projects. Help with individual projects. Display of letters between David and Nancy. Where love and skill work together. All levels.
16 -18 October 2015 Calligraphy for Cards, Gifts for that special person/occasions. Learn /improve your calligraphy and make greeting cards, place cards, gift cards and easy gift boxes of your choice for that special person or occasion. Help with individual projects. (Please let Nancy know what your project is, in advance, for handouts & examples.) All levels welcome.
